Why we built Flashman to run entirely in your browser

The product philosophy behind client-side developer tools—and what we will never do with your data.

Flashman started from a simple frustration: pasting a JWT into a random online decoder and wondering where the token went. For side projects that is annoying. For automotive calibration data or healthcare integrations it is unacceptable.

No upload by default

Tool logic runs in JavaScript on your device. We do not operate a backend that ingests your JSON, tokens, or MATLAB exports. That architectural choice limits what we can build—but it is the right default for trust.

Sustainable through ads

Free tools need hosting and maintenance. We use optional, consent-gated advertising rather than selling data or adding paywalls to basic utilities.

What is next

More guides, more tools, better search—and always the same privacy model. If a feature requires a server, we will say so loudly before you paste anything.
